What Does the Bonnet Electric Vehicle Charging App Do?

At Bonnet, we don’t think the process of charging your electric vehicle should be complicated. We believe there should be a reliable and logical way of charging your EV where you can handle your electric charging efficiently and in one place. So that’s exactly what we have done.

Bonnet seeks to improve the charging experience of electric car drivers by providing a subscription service for drivers — and businesses — so they can gain access to the entire public charging infrastructure. We currently connect almost twenty of the best charging networks (with more being added all the time) to simplify your charging experience. Bonnet lets you charge your EV with just your smartphone and a monthly subscription, so there is no more need for countless apps and cards for the different networks. You can now handle it all in one place: the Bonnet app.

The main way to pay for charging on Bonnet is through our Refills, where you make upfront purchases each month in return for a lower rate on your energy. There is also the option of a Pay As You Go plan if you prefer, which will bill you automatically for the energy used every time you charge your car. Simply download the Bonnet app and choose your payment preference to join the Bonnet revolution.

Electric Car Charging in Nottingham

Nottingham is working towards becoming carbon neutral by 2028 through various schemes such as e-scooters, wireless charging electric taxis, and a new EV charging network. The city has also gained the title of a Future Transport Zone and has been granted funds to encourage clean modes of mobility, including electric vehicles.

Nottingham City Council has used funding from the Office for Low Emissions to install more than 400 charge points in support of the transition to EVs. According to the Department of Transport, which published data on the number of EV charge points in every UK Local Authority Area, Nottingham ranks in the top 20% in every category. This includes the number of rapid charge points (53 across the city), the number of charge points per person, and overall charge point numbers (almost 200 devices!)

A pilot scheme is also due to be introduced across the County. The Electric Vehicle Cable Channel (EVCC) pilot scheme is a step to help residents charge their electric cars at home in Nottingham and throughout Nottinghamshire instead of off-street in car parks.

Nottingham is evidently one of the best places in the UK to own, use, and charge an electric car. If you would like a reliable, easy, and efficient way of charging your electric car in Nottingham, download the Bonnet app today.
